“I would like to have – two II class tickets for the 13.58 train.”
I tought that was so funny whwn I was a small girl, well I still think it is amusing.
Say it, 2 2 2 2 2 2 train and this train is a 2 2 train called Hamra.
It’s a steam engine that I saw on my trip to Mariefred.
“This is the heart of Östra Södermanlands Järnväg (Ö.S1.J). The line was originally the SJ standard gauge line from Läggesta to Mariefred, which the Swedish State Railways (SJ) operated until the mid-1960’s when the line was closed. Ö.Sl.J., which began on a small scale at the Lina brick works in Södertälje in 1959, took after a few years over the track and station in Mariefred and rebuilt the track to 600 mm narrow gauge.” Text from wikipedia.
Wikipedia

Highgate Cemetery LONDON
May 10, 2009
Today I’m going to show you some pictures from my visit to this amazing place called Highgate Cemetery, just about one hour from the City of London’s hectic pulse. I’m a huge fan and admirer of this enchanted spot on earth. It lush, green, so very beautiful and calm.

Highgate Cemetery

Highgate Cemetery - details
The cemetery’s grounds are full of mature trees, shrubbery and wild flowers all of which have been planted and grown without human influence. ( I don’t think that is completely true) I found a numerous wild flowers like for instance Bluebells Scilla non-scripta and Ramsons Allium ursinum. The guide told me that in a few weeks the wild poppies Papaver will bloom and can you imagine the red ‘lanterns’ lighten up the grounds. It must be wonderful. The grounds are a haven for birds and small animal. The cemeterys tree crowns form a wonderful most amazing canopy and the sound in the cemetery or the lack of noice is overwhelming.

Visst gör det ont när knoppar brister.
April 27, 2009

- Honeysuckle
YES, OF COURSE IT HURTS
Yes, of course it hurts when buds are breaking. Why else would the springtime falter? Why would all our ardent longing bind itself in frozen, bitter pallor? After all, the bud was covered all the winter. What new thing is it that bursts and wears? Yes, of course it hurts when buds are breaking, hurts for that which grows and that which bars.
Yes, it is hard when drops are falling. Trembling with fear, and heavy hanging, cleaving to the twig, and swelling, sliding - weight draws them down, though they go on clinging. Hard to be uncertain, afraid and divided, hard to feel the depths attract and call, yet sit fast and merely tremble - hard to want to stay and want to fall.
Then, when things are worst and nothing helps the tree's buds break as in rejoicing, then, when no fear holds back any longer, down in glitter go the twig's drops plunging, forget that they were frightened by the new, forget their fear before the flight unfurled - feel for a second their greatest safety, rest in that trust that creates the world.
translated by David McDuff from a peom by Karin Boye.
Varför skulle annars våren tveka?
Varför skulle all vår heta längtan

Winter Pictures
February 23, 2009
Some of my pictures from a winter walk out by the coast line. This wonderful place on earth is called Ängskär and during the summertime there are lots of people here. People come here to bath in the sea, sunbath, camping or to have a nice picnics on the rocks or on the small beach. At this time of year there are none here, it is a very quiet and serene place, great for walks. I walk here is like a session of meditation

Pictures from time gone by -
Sekelskiftesbilder från en svunnen tid.
Pictures from time gone by, these pictures are from the beginning of last century. And the names of the persons on the picture are Mr. and Mrs. Altrichter. They lived just outside Stockholm and it is from there home these pictures are. The Altrichters son, Carl. A. Altrichter was my uncle married to Sonja Altrichter, my dear dear aunt. This is a cultural treasure where you can see a home of a family that lived some hundred years ago.

Handarbete – Needle work
September 10, 2008
Peaceful and relaxing, the hours just pass away very quickly, time just seems to fly away. It’s a little bit odd when you think of what you are doing… something that takes such a long time to complete. On this picture Missy M is doing a floral embroidery on white linen, it’s for a small drapery that she is going to use in her walk-in closet.
